Dr. BURTON D. LITTLE Dies
Death Claims Well Known Physician

Dr. Burton D. Little, well known physician of Winterset and Madison county, died at his home on North First street, Wednesday morning, December 2, 1931, about nine o'clock. Dr. Little had been in poor health for some time, and retired from active practice, over a year ago. He fitted up a room in his home, and continued to serve some of his patients, as long as his health would permit. His condition became steadily worse however, and he has been bedfast for several months.

Dr. Little who was 62 years of age, has practiced medicine in Madison county, for 36 years. He was born in Oskaloosa, December 26, 1868, and moved to Des Moines with his parents when he was a youth. He attended the Des Moines schools, and was graduated from the medical department of Drake University in 1894. His post graduate work was taken at Rush Medical school in Chicago, and also in New York City.

He practiced medicine in Patterson, before coming to Winterset. He was married on May 27th, 1908 to Miss Rosa C. Close of Patterson and they have since made their home in Patterson or in Winterset. Dr. Little had a large practice, and had many friends all over the county. His work endeared him to his patients and everyone spoke kindly of Dr. Little. In later years, his friends advised him to take better care of himself, and to give up long trips to the country, but if his patients needed him, he was willing to make the trip.

Dr. Little was a member of the Masonic lodge, and of the Presbyterian church. His funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, at the First Presbyterian church in Winterset at 2 o'clock. Rev. W. C. Porter will conduct the services, and the Masons will have charge of brief services at the grave.

Dr. Little leaves his wife, and three sisters, Mrs. Alice M. Wragg, Mrs. Mary Eldridge, and Miss Margaret Little of Des Moines.
