Mrs Mable Arnold, a resident of Madison county nearly all her life, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1952, at Memorial hospital in Winterset where she had been a patient since Dec. 28. She was 74 years of age.
Mrs. Arnold was the former Mable Denisa King, daughter of Albert W. and Samantha Sayre King. She was born July 13, 1878 in the Elm Grove neighborhood near Peru. She was married to David C. Arnold of St. Charles on May 8, 1901. With the exception of a few years in Shelby county, during her childhood, her life was spent in Madison county.
Her husband preceded her in death, April 5, 1949. She maintained her home in St. Charles for many years, until her health failed last spring. She had been at the Carter nursing home in Winterset since Feb. 28, 1952.
Mrs. Arnold was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Harold Arnold of Atlantic; two grandchildren; David and Linda Arnold and a brother, Milton C. King of Escondido, Calif.
Funeral services were held last Saturday from the St. Charles Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Eldon Haworth. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery. Pall bearers were Gerald Anderson, Chester Sheets, Ernest Cox, Alfred Jewell and Raymond and Truman Johnston.
