WILLIAM DUNLAP

William Dunlap's parents immigrated from Scotland and passed away a short time after, when he and his only sister were taken and raised by John McMurty near Rio, Illinois.

He enlisted in Co. D. 102nd regiment Illinois infantry in 1862 and served his country until the end of the war.

On November 26, 1868, he and Hattie E. Mattewes were united in marriage at Oneida, Illinois, and to this union one daughter was born, Minnie, who only lived to gladden their home three years. He had no brothers, only one sister, Janet Dunlap-Frakes, who proceded him to the home beyond several years ago having one daughter, Myrtle Allen, and three sons, William, Charles and Frank Frakes, his only known relatives.

He was born February 24, 1843 and died January 5, 1917. On April 10, 1914 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mollie E. Henry, who still survives him and during his three months' sickness has been constantly at his bedside. At his death he was 74 years, 11 months and 5 days old.

Note: Burial at Earlham cemetery.
