WALTER MELVIN BRICKER

Walter Melvin Bricker, son of Melvin and Ella Bricker, was born August 26, 1888 near Earlham, Iowa. He passed from this life October 30, 1979 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines afater a short illness.

He was married to Dorothy Anderson in 1916. To this union is one daughter, Lela Haselhuhn of Adel.

Walter's early life was spent in farming in Madison County. In 1948 they moved to Adel where he worked as a painter for a short time.

Since the passing of his wife in 1956 he has lived with his daughter in Adel.

He loved nature, the out-of-doors, hunting, raising beautiful flowers. In later years he devoted himself to raising beautiful iris and peonies.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister: Gertrude, brothers - Ralph, Charles, and Clarence.

Surviving are his daughter Lela, son-in-law, Merle, one gandson Don and wife Susan. Also two younger brothers: Earl of Ida Grove and Herschel and wife Celia of Farmington, Maine, and sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ralph Bricker of Earlham and Mrs. Charles Bricker of Winterset.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Services were held Friday, Nov. 2, 1979 at the Adel United Methodist Church.

Note: Burial was in Penn Center Cemetery
