Mrs Nancy E. Laizure, a resident of Madison county since 1868, passed away at her home, 310 East Court Avenue, on Wednesday, December 9, 1925, at the age of seventy-nine years.
Mrs. Laizure, whose maiden name was Nancy Lowe, daughter of Rev. William and Charity Lowe, was born near Elizabeth City, North Carolina, October 14, 1846. As a small child she moved with her parents to Dublin, Indiana, thence to Adair County, Iowa. In April l868 she was married to W. H. Laizure, a farmer of Douglas township. To this union nine children were born , two of which died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death thirty-two years ago.
She is survived by her children, William B., Hiram N., and Belle of the home. Katherine L. McDonald, Zanesville, Ohio, James T., of Linneus, Missouri, Ralph L. of Winterset, and A. Lee of Douglas township, one sister, Sarah Lane of Greenfield, Ia, two brothers, J. N. Lowe of Greeley, Colorado, eight grand children and eleven great grandchildren.
She joined the Methodist church when very young. At the time of her death her membership was in the West Star church. She was a devoted Christian, and very much beloved by those who knew her.
Funeral arrangements have been made for Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the home. Burial in Douglas township.

Pg 1Mrs. Nancy Laizure was called by death shortly after eight o’clock on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Laizure sustained a fall about three years ago and since then has gradually failed in health. She partially lost use of her right arm and limb but was not confined to her room until a week and a half ago.
She was in her seventy-ninth year and came to Madison county in 1868. Her husband W. H. Laizure preceded her in death 32 years ago.
She was a true Christian woman and very devoted to her family of seven children, who mourn the loss of a loving mother. The Laizures lived in Douglas township many years, Mrs. Laizure and daughter, Belle, moving to Winterset, several years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted from the late home at 2:30 on Friday afternoon and interment made at the McDonald cemetery in Douglas township.
