Obituary

John Getchell Ellis died at the residence of his sister, Mrs. William Morris, October 4; aged 31 years and 10 months. He was born in Douglas township, Madison county, Iowa, and has always lived there until ill health compelled him to seek the mountains to recuperate. All efforts failed and he returned a few months ago to this city, and continued to decline until consumption had wrought its work.

Funeral services were held under the auspices of Madison Lodge, No. 136, I.O.O.F., of which he was a member. On Friday afternoon Rev. Follansbee conducted the services. For several years he was the superintendent of the electric power house in this city.
