Cathie Jean Collins, 58, of St. Charles died of cancer July 23, 2009.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 25, at St. Charles Parish Church with Pastor Sandy Smith and Dr. John Lewis officiating. Interment followed at Sayre Cemetery, St. Charles. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family for a memorial to be decided at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
Cathie Collins was born July 25, 1950, in Osceola to George Lee and Edna (Spellerberg) Parker and was a 1968 graduate of Interstate 35 High School. Her marriage to Clifford Ivan Collins took place July 5, 1969. In 1974, Cathie graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for 35 years. As an active member of the St. Charles Parish, she served on the parish council and other committees, was a junior high youth leader, and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford, of St. Charles; two sons, Casey Collins of West Des Moines and Clifford Collins of Jones, Mich.; one daughter, Callie Waller of West Des Moines; a sister, Cindy Sanford of Osceola; and six grandchildren.
