Hazel Knisley, 80, of Winterset died July 13, 2009 at Winterset Care Center North.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at North McDonald Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the ISU Madison County Extension for the 4-H program.
Hazel Knisley was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Bartlesville, Okla. She was employed as a bookkeeper for C. Meyer Super Value in Winterset for 10 years and later worked for Dahl’s Foods in Des Moines for 12 years. A resident of Winterset for 40 years, she also was active as a 4-H leader.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny, and two sisters, Betty and Elnora.
She is survived by her children — Roger Knisley of Sapulpa, Okla., Rance Knisley of Allen, Texas, and Cammie Cooper of Enterprise, Kan.; a sister, Ruth Eikenberry of Edna, Kan.; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
