Edna M. Creger, 90, of Windsor Heights passed away Friday, July 10, 2009, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Iles Funeral Home-Grandview Park Chapel. Burial will be at North McDonald Cemetery near Winterset.
Edna was born April 13, 1919, to Fletcher and Carrie McDonald on their family farm in Madison County. She and Pete Creger, owner of Valley Conoco, were married for over 50 years before his death in 1995.
Edna was proud of the over 25 years she worked at Drake University. She was a long time Sunday School teacher at First Free Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Left to cherish Edna's memory are three children, Martha (Louis) Crees, Joan (Phillip) Van Vleet and Stephen Creger; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions are being directed to Drake University.
