MARTHA LUELLA THACKER

Martha Luella Reed was born September 21st, 1873 and died at Leavenworth, Kansas, March 10, 1906. She united with the U. P. church when but eleven years of age, of which she was a member until 1895, when she became a member of the Methodist church.

She was married February 13th, 1896 to R. W. Thacker. Three children were born to this union. The oldest child died when seven and one half months old. She leaves a husband, two boys, Marion, aged 7, and Wesley aged 5, two brothers, three sisters and many friends to mourn their loss.

The funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Cox, and were conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett of the Christian church of Winterset, after which the remains were taken to the Pleasant View cemetery for interment.

Mrs. Thacker was raised in this community and was well known, and will long be remembered by her many friends.

Fairview

The body of Mrs. Lulu Thatcher, better known as Lulu Reed in this community, was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery last Monday afternoon. She grew to young womanhood in this community, but has for several years lived in Missouri.
