Mary Osburn Pixler was born in Pennsylvania, Oct., 25, 1832 and moved to Woods Co., Ohio, where, at the age of eighteen, she was married to J. B. Pixler. Early in life she was converted, and with her husband, joined the M. E. church.
To them were born thirteen children, seven of which survived. Three were present at the funeral services, Sylvester, Mrs. Allie Carter, and Mrs. Effie Stone. The absent ones are B. Pixler, of Childress, Texas, Eugene and will, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Norman of Spokane, Wash.
It can be said of her that her life was a continual sacrifice to world the happiness of others. While not seeking great deeds of honor she was continually scattering seeds of kindness.
Rev. Hicks, of Des Moines, conducted the funeral services and a large procession of friends followed the remains to the city of the silent dead near Union Chapel, thus showing their great esteem of her.
