MERRILL HUSTED Dies Wednesday

A lifetime resident of Madison County and a farmer for many years, Merrill R. Husted, died Wednesday, October 22, 1975, at Villa West Care Center in Winterset. His residence previously was 514 South 8th Avenue in Winterset.

Mr. Husted was born December 3, 1906 near Peru, Iowa, the son of Ora Husted and Etta Kale Husted. He attended Peru grade school and graduated from Truro High Schoool and was married to Inez Lodge September 6, 1930.

Besides farming, Mr. Husted was employed for a number of years with the Iowa Highway Commission and had worked as a car salesman.

Surviving Mr. Husted is his wife, Inez Husted, one son, Billie Max Husted of Truro, Iowa, two grandchildren and a brother, Cresley "Chet" Husted of Des Moines. Mr. Husted was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services for Merrill R. Husted were conducted Friday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with burial at the Blair Chapel Cemetery, in Madison County. Rev. Paul Bousfield officiated.
