MARY ELIZABETH JONES

Mary Elizabeth Jones, wife of Frank P. Jones, was the daughter of William and Jane Sturman and one of a family of ten children, all of whom are dead except sisters, Missouri Jones, Dorindo Jones, Charlotte Gordon, and Malona Jones.

She was born in Coschocton county, Ohio, May 8th, 1847, and the following year came with her parents to Madison county, Iowa, where she afterward resided.

The deceased was the mother of twelve children, namely: Dessa M., Mariah J., Emma J., Virginia C., Nellie B., John F., James G., Mary E., August R., William D., Myrtle C., and Paul B., all of who are living except Mariah J. and Emma J., both of whom died in infancy.

She first professed religion in 1871 and united with the M. E. church, and at all times since she has been a firm believer in the teachings of Christ and died in the hope of having a part in the resurrection and of meeting loved ones gone before. She came from one of the best families in Madison county and she had always been a most faithful wife and mother, and when, on September 4th, 1905, God called her home, this bereaved family lost a worthy and dearly beloved wife and mother and these neighbors lost a true and faithful friend, and now she sleeps in peace.
