Velma M. Routh died February 2, 2009, at Kavanaugh House in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 5, at 10:30 a.m., at Earlham Presbyterian Church in Earlham, IA. A visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009, from 3 to 7 p.m., where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham, IA.
Velma was born in Redfield, IA., on February 1, 1919. She just celebrated her 90th birthday. She was a lifelong resident of Earlham, IA .
The wonderful memories of her life of loving others will be cherished by her three children and their spouses, Ron (Katie) Routh, of Norwalk, IA, Romona (John) Fisher, of Earlham, IA, Rodger (Mary) of Ankeny, IA.
Other surviving relatives include sister, Eva Louise Schwab (Clyde McMullen), of Stuart; a step-sister, Sylvia (Bill) Green, of Goshen, IN; grandchildren, Rhett (Stephanie) Routh, of Johnston, Brandon (Courtney) Routh, of Los Angeles, CA, Sara (Steven) Cliff, of Shanghai, China, Carolyn Routh, of Milwaukee, WI, Kevin Fisher, of Los Angeles, CA., Annie Fisher, of Duluth, MN, Theresa (Kent) Chapman, of Indianola, IA, Jarrod (Marti) Routh and Kateri Routh, of Chicago, IL, and Brianna Routh, of Iowa City, IA. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Amor E; her daughter, Ruth Ann Routh; her brothers, Dickie, George, and Bob Junkin; and her parents, Joy McQuie and Addie Lowdema Junkin
Memorial contributions will be donated to the Woodward Resource Center and the Earlham Presbyterian Church.
Velma's family would like to thank everyone at the 56th Street Kavanaugh House Hospice for the tender loving care she and they received.
