Service Held at Welch Funeral Home Saturday. Burial at Mazon, Illinois.
I. B. Walker died at his home near Earlham early last Friday morning after a lingering illness. A service in charge of Rev. F. Moore was held in the Welch Funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The body was taken to Mazon, Illinois, his former home, for burial Sunday.
Obituary
Isaac Benson Walker, son of Anne Clithero and Lazerly Walker was born near Zanesville, Ohio, on January 18, 1855, and departed this life at Earlham, Iowa, on March 1, 1935 at the age of 80 years, one month and 18 days.
He was the oldest of six children two of whom, a brother and only sister died in infancy. His parents were pioneers first in Ohio and later in Grundy county, Illinois. His father was a soldier in the Civil War and died in the service when Benson was but eight years old.
He was married to Hattie Elizabeth Williams on November 2, 1882. They made their home on a farm near Mazon, Illinois, where they resided until 1913 when they moved to this state and county. Mrs. Walker was taken away in February of 1921.
Of their four children, three are living, Maurice M. and Russell L. of Mazon, and Louise Moreland of Earlham. A daughter, Anna Preston, died in October of 1933. Besides his children and eight grandchildren, he is survived by three brothers, Edward, of Tolono, Illinois, Wilbur of Mazon, and Oliver of Earlham.
