Ray Whitenack is Buried Here

150 Accompany Remains of Former Worthington Man From Lake City.

The remains of Ray Whitenack, former Worthington and Earlham man, were brought here Tuesday from Lake City. After an impressive ceremony at the Masonic Temple in which Masons and Eastern Stars of Sac City, Lake City and Earlham took part, interment was made in the Worthington cemetery.

Dinner for more than 150 members of the Orders from the vicinity of Lake City was served by the local Eastern Stars under the direction of Mrs. C. B. Stanley.

Ray Whitenack was born at Worthington 51 years ago and spent his boyhood there and at Earlham where his father, Charles Whitenack, at one time owned the hotel. They left this community 30 years ago. Mr. Whitenack moved to Lake City from Sac City two years ago. He died Saturday evening as the result of a relapse from influenza, complicated by dust particles accumulating in his lungs while following his occupation at a stone cutter. Plans for burial and the dinner here were made by Mr. Whitenack during his last illness.

He is survived by his widow and one son, Denton, 14, besides many relatives, several whom reside at Worthington.
