Mrs. Salisa Laura Benedict, a native of Madison county, died recently at Wenatchee, Wash., where she had lived since 1920. She was the mother of Melvin Benedict of Lorimor. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Benedict was born at Peru on Dec. 14, 1865, and lived there until she was 13 years of age. She then moved to Watson, Mo., where she was married in 1880 to Charles O. Benedict, and moved to Winterset in 1890, and lived here until moving to Wenatchee.
Funeral service and burial were held at Wenatchee.

Mrs. Salisa Laura Benedict, former resident of Madison county, died Sunday, Aug. 10, at Wenatchee, Wash., following an accident when she fell and broke her hip, 10 days previously. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Benedict had been a resident of Wenatchee since 1920. She was born Dec. 14, 1865 in Peru, Ia. When she was 13 years old she moved to Watson, Mo., to make her home. There she grew to womanhood and was married to Charles O. Benedict on Dec. 25, 1880. They had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She moved to Winterset, Iowa, in 1890 and made her home until moving to Wenatchee. She was a member of the Baptist c hurch.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Melvin Benedict of Lorimor; Glenn and Wilbur Benedict of Wenatchee, one sister and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Jones and Jones Chapel in when Archie on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Burial was made in Wenatchee cemetery.
