Obituary

Advin A. Gingerich, son of Harvey and Laura Gingerich, was born April 23, 1909 in Johnson County. He was baptized into the faith of the Triune God in August 1979 and was a member of Gospel Chapel at Menlo.

He grew up around the Kalona area. He married Hattie Elizabeth Ledan on July 28, 1930. They became parents of seven children. The names are: Leroy Gingerich (deceased), Mrs. Clifford (Mary) Fritz (deceased), Ralph Gingerich of Columbus Junction, Lawrence Gingerich of North Liberty, Orval Gingerich of Lone Tree, Glen Gingerich of Wellman, Mrs. Lowell (Linda) Zillmer of Marion.

On November 18, 1972 he was married to Gertrude Schlotz and moved to Earlham.

He had three brothers and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, four sons, one daughter, two brothers, Archie Gingerich of Washington, Iowa and Raymond Gingerich of Kalona, Iowa. He had seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He passed away at his residence in Earlham on Monday, December 15, 1980 at the age of 71.

Services were held at the Menlo Gospel Chapel, Menlo, Iowa on Thursday, December 18 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Norman Koons officiating the services.

Music was provided by Mrs. Julia Welker, pianist; and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Welker, vocalists.

Pallbearers were Al Gilbert, Randy Koons, Bud McDaniels, Myron Akers, Randy Fisher and Lonnie Koons.

Interment was at the Sharon Hill Cemetery, Kalona, Iowa on Friday, December 19.
