Obituary

Hulda Emma Morrison, daughter of Edwin and Elnora Case, was born September 13, 1890, in Strong City, Kansas, and passed away at the Redfield hospital at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 14 days.

She moved to Stuart, Iowa at the age of 15, and while living in this vicinity she became a member of the Jefferson Center Methodist church. Later she had her membership transferred to the Casey Methodist church where it remained throughout her life.

On March 8, 1923 she was united in marriage to Lafayette Emory Morrison of Anita, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Mrs. JoAnn Morris, Mrs. Frances Coffman and Robert Morrison of Earlham and Mrs. Betty Dunmire of Waukee. Three adopted children also came to bless their home: Sandra Hodson of Redfield, and Phillip and Terry Morrison of Waukee.

She was always thinking of others before herself. A home-loving person, she was happiest when her children and grandchildren were coming home and she could prepare a bountiful meal for them.

Following the death of her husband in 1963 she had made her home with her daughter Betty in Waukee.

The best in medical and nursing care was given her, but she had lived a full life and her body became too tired to carry on.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her father and mother, three brothers and three sisters.

She leaves to mourn her passing her seven children, twenty grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Earlham Methodist church on Tuesday, April 30. Rev. Ward Young was in charge. Burial was in Stuart cemetery.
