Obituary

Ira Clinton Mendenhall was born February 3, 1890 in Earlham, Iowa. He was the last living of seven children born to Richard and Mary Ann Mendenhall. He was a lifelong resident of Madison and Dallas counties.

In former years he was employed as a quarry worker and later as a blacksmith in Earlham where he and Burl Lucille reared nine children. The death of three sons preceded the death of the parents. They were: Jack Parker, Vernon and Russell Mendenhall.

Surviving children are: Howard and Kenneth Mendenhall, Harry Parker and Phyllis Garwall, all of California, Roland Mendenhall of Missouri and Marion Walker of Grimes, Iowa. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Note: Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
