Obituary

Lillie Margaret Godown, daughter of Henry and Theda Suntken Feldman, was born in Litchfield, Nebraska (Sherman County) on May 30, 1918. There she lived and grew and received her education. On June 1, 1935 she was united in marriage to Merle Godown at Broken Bow, Nebraska. To this union one son, Dean Charles, was born.

In the fall of 1940 they moved from Nebraska to Madison County, Iowa where they have lived these remaining 31 years of her life. During these years she continued to give of herself as a wife, mother and homemaker in love, made many friendships, took an active part in North River Church Ladies Aid, the Town and Country Club, the Joie-de-Vie Club, and helped with numerous drives for Cancer and Red Cross. She also became a member of the Worthington United Methodist church.

After an illness of about 18 months, the rest of death came to her in quiet peaceful passing on July 9, 1971 at the Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset.

Mrs. Godown was preceded in death by her mother and one sister.

She is survived by her husband Merle; her son, Dean Charles and his wife Margie of Longmont, Colorado, and two granddaughters, Linda Kay and Shelley Lynn; her father Henry Feldman of Van Meter; one sister Clara Sanders of Ravenna, Nebraska; four brothers, Ralph Feldman of Winterset; Robert Feldman of Van Meter; Frank Feldman of Litchfield, Nebraska; and Bill Feldman of Booneville; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 12, at Worthington United Methodist church. Rev. Ward Young of Earlham officiated.

Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Ravenna, Nebraska at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13. Rev. Quincy Murphree of Ravenna, Nebraska, officiated.
