Wednesday, January 10, 2007SAUK PRAIRIE - Delbert Afton Douglas, age 101, died on Monday, January 8, 2007, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born January 22, 1905, in Madison County, Iowa, the son of the late William and Mary (Stutzman) Douglas.
He was united in marriage to Glendoline Collins in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1994.
Delbert was employed by the telephone company in the Sauk Prairie area for twenty years.
Delbert is survived by two children, Vada (Robert) Garrett of Stuart, Iowa, and Don (Marcia) Douglas of Madison; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and John Overholt of Montezuma, Iowa.
A funeral service will be held at Sauk Prairie Evangelical Free Churc, Prairie du Sac, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2007, with Pastors Dwight Pulsfus and Roy Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sauk Prairie Evangelical Free Church.
