Obituary

Martha McCurdy Olson was born in Belmont County, Ohio, June 25, 1904 and departed this life on Thursday morning, November 23, 1972 at the age of 68 years and 5 months, after an illness of 7 years.

She received her education in the Dysart high school, Drake University and Cedar Falls University. She taught school in Earlham for 33 years. She was a dedicated teacher and loved all her students. She enjoyed seeing each pupil develop his mind and was happy to see that she had a part in helping each one find his potential ability.

She was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ where she taught a class for many years.

She is survived by her devoted husband; two cousins, May Morgan and Mrs. Mary Ellen Welch, both of Perry; her sister-in-law, Gladys McCurdy of Ephrata, Washington; two uncles and two aunts in Ohio, and one niece and nephew. Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Mary McCurdy; her brother Stewart and an infant sister.

Memorial services and interment were at Belmont, Ohio on Monday, November 27.
