DOUBLE FUNERAL SERVICES HELD

Double funeral services were held Monday from the Dunn Funeral home in Des Moines for two former residents of Lorimor and Winterset, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Burkhead.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Burkhead died at Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines. His death occurred Friday, Sept. 26, of cancer, at the age of 75 years. Mrs. Burkhead died Saturday, Sept. 27 of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was 69 years of age.

Mr. and Mrs. Burkhead would have observed their fifty-second wedding anniversary on Oct. 4. They are survived by a son, Lowell Burkhead of Mechanicsville; six grand children; and nine great grandchildren.
