In the death of Mrs. Mary V., wife of C. H. Clanton, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Wheeler, of Winterset, which occurred at her home in this city on the morning of the 7th inst., an irreparable loss was sustained by her bereaved husband, children, parents, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors, to all of whom by her noble Christian life she was held most dear. On Friday at 11 o’clock a.m. services were held in the M. E. church in the city, conducted by Rev. Elder, of the Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. Hancox, of the M. E. church, after which her remains were kindly conveyed to the cemetery and laid to rest by the side of her dead babe which had preceded her but a few days.

Died, at St. Charles, Iowa, Oct. 7, 1898, Mary Victoria Clanton, wife of C. H. Clanton, and daughter of A. M. and H. E. Wheeler. The funeral was held Saturday Oct. 8th, at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Elder, of the Church of Christ and assisted by Rev. Hancock of the M. E. church.

Note: Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
