Obituary

Clyde Moore Wasson, son of John and Maude Moore Wasson, was born south of Dexter, January 11, 1903, at the farm of his parents.

On June 16, 1926, he was united in marriage to Rachel Thrailkill. They established their home on a farm in the Dexter vicinity. Mr. Wasson’s life was spent in farming. He also was a breeder of purebred Shorthorn cattle, exhibiting them in cattle shows and fairs. He served as officer in the AAA. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Methodist church, serving in various capacities and giving himself unselfishly in its ministry.

Mr. Wasson passed away Friday, July 24, 1964, following a long illness. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Rachel, his brother Kenneth, a niece Maureen, and a nephew Johnny, and many other relatives and friends.

Clyde was a devoted husband and a lover of home and friends. He was well known for his friendliness and kind words to all men. His loss is keenly felt by all who loved him.

Funeral services were held Monday morning from the Methodist church in Stuart, with Rev. Laurence Garett officiating. Music was presented by Robert Lawson and Robin Lawson, Mrs. Warren Carter, Mrs. Arthur Mapes, Mrs. Edwin Eversull and Mrs. Willard Cummings assisted with the flowers. Casket bearers were Warren Carter, Arthur Mapes, Bill Belden, Bill Eversull, Jim Belden and Raynor Holland.

Interment was in South Oak Grove Cemetery.
