Keith Leon Davis, Winterset

Keith L. Davis was a lifelong resident of Winterset. He was born here Nov. 11, 1939, a son of Ben B. Davis, Jr. and Mildred E. (Sampson) Davis. He graduated from Winterset high school with the class of 1958 and attended college at Maryville, Mo., where he studied industrial arts for two and a half years. He entered military service on Sept. 1, 1962, and lately had been serving in the National Guard. He had been employed at Reed’s Feed and Soil Service since March 1.

He was married June 3, 1962 at Ft. Dodge, to Dorothy Murphy, who survives him.

He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and the Masonic Lodge in Winterset.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Davis Jr., of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Carol Ann Faux of Ft Dodge; a brother Larry D. Davis of Winterset; and his grandfather, Ben Davis Sr., of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the St. Paul Lutheran Church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Richard L. Lehmann. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery with Masonic ritual by the members of Evening Star lodge.

Transcriber's note: This obituary is at the end of a long newspaper article on the accidental death of Keith L. Davis. Keith died May 31, 1963 in a grain bin accident at Reed Feed and Soil Service Plant at the north edge of Winterset.
