Dorothy E. Couch, 86, died on Sunday, April 6, 2007, at the Fleur Heights Care Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at St. Patrick's Church Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Story City, Iowa and had lived there 19 years. She then married George Couch and moved and lived in the Des Moines and surrounding area for the past 67 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting of all kinds including needlework and quilting.
She is survived by her son John F. Couch of Barefoot Bay, Florida, her daughters Marie (Dale) McClurg of Des Moines and Cora (Walter) Welch of Des Moines, her brother Leslie Vangness of Story City, Iowa, her ten grandchildren, her 20 great- grandchildren and five great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George and sister Judy Johnson.
