Mrs. John Stiffler died last Thursday at her home in this city. Mrs. Stiffler, whose maiden name was Katherine Koon was born May 13, 1813. She was married to Mr. Stiffler in 1831, and it is doubtful if there is a couple living in the state who had been married longer than they.

The End of Life.

Mrs. Catherine Stiffler died at her home in this city last Saturday morning about three o’clock.

Deceased was born in Penn., May 13, 1813. She came to Iowa about forty years ago, settling first at Rising Sun, from which place she moved to Winterset. Her maiden name was Catherine Koon, a sister of Squire Koon, of this city. She married Mr. John Stiffler, who survives her, in 1831, and to them were born thirteen children, eight of whom are now living. Her husband is now 88 years old. Four sons served their country during the civil war and one was killed in battle.

Mrs. Stiffler was a faithful Christian lady and belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist church of Winterset. The funeral was held at the family home Tuesday afternoon and Elder Richardson was in charge. Old age was the cause of death.

Stewart Goshorn, a son-in-law from Nebraska, and two sons, Rev. Madison of Nebraska, and John, of Missouri, attended the funeral.
