William Mills, a resident of Madison county from 1856 to 1865, died January 20 at Broken Bow, Neb. During the war Mr. Mills served as second lieutenant in the 23d Iowa Infantry. The funeral was held at Arnold, Neb., conducted by Rev. H. M. Pinckney, a former resident of this county, to whom we are indebted for a Nebraska paper containing a notice of the death of this worthy veteran and Christian citizen.
