From Lee Township - Died, November 11th, at his home in Lee township, Frederick Stevenson, aged 70 years.

Deceased was born at Oxford, England, and came to America at the age of nineteen years. He married Miss Sophia Batlice, of the Quaker settlement, Iowa.

By his death he leaves a wife, four daughters and two sons, all the children being married except one son, James.

Mr. Stevenson died very suddenly of heart disease, while sitting in a chair by the stove, no one being in the house at the time, his wife being in Des Moines at the bed side of a sick daughter. He fell in such a manner as to severely burn his legs. His son, who was at a short distance from the house, attracted by the smell of burning clothes, rushed into the house to find his father dead and his clothing on fire.

He was buried at the Baptist cemetery, just east of Winterset.
