Mr. Purcell, an old gentleman living in the northeastern part of this city, died of cancer last Thursday. He was an old and respected citizen. He suffered terribly for some time previous to his death.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. His gravestone says "Benjiman". It is not known if this was a mistake or if he actually spelled it that way.
