Winterset Madisonian – November 3, 1897
J. A. Way was called to Macksburg on Friday on account of the death of a young niece, the daughter of his brother, J. W. Way. This little one is remembered by the people of St. Charles where the family resided, as a remarkably bright and loving child. The bereaved parents have the full sympathy of their many friends.
Winterset Madisonian – November 10, 1897
Died, October 28th, the infant child of J. W. Way and wife. The little one was but a few months old and has never enjoyed good health. Its death strikes very heavily upon the parents. The funeral was conducted at the home of Rev. D. W. Myers, on Saturday, October 30th, and the babe was laid to rest in the Macksburg cemetery. It would seem to mortal sense, ‘twere better that the rose should never bloom, than blooming thus should fad so soon.
