Mrs. Tynza Brown, commonly known as Grandma Brown, departed this life June 25th, 1897, at the home of her son John, at Des Moines and was interred at the North Branch Quaker cemetery on Sunday afternoon. A large concourse of friends were present to pay the last tribute of respect.
Grandma, as we love to call her, was a great sufferer many weeks previous to her death, but with patience and fortitude she endured the pain. While the outer life was perishing with her declining days the inner life was renewed day by day, and she entered into rest through a triumphant faith in Christ. She was converted in early life and joined the M. E. Church, of which she remained a worthy member. Her life was one of self denial and thoughtfulness for others and many are the hearts that will miss her loving ministrations. She leaves a husband, two children, and numerous grandchildren, besides a host of friends to mourn her loss.
The funeral service will be held at the Fairview church in the near future.
