Mrs. D. B. Palmer, of Barney, Madison county, Iowa, was born at Hebron, Oxford county, Maine, June 5th, 1816, and died at her home February 16th, 1900. She was married to Bradbury Palmer 1838. There were born to them four sons and one daughter. The aged father and two sons survive her.
Deceased united with the Methodist church in early life, and remained a faithful Christian until her death. She was a faithful wife, a tender mother, a kind neighbor and friend. The funeral services were held February 23, conducted by Rev. Nolte; sermon from the text, “Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

Died, February 21st, 1900, at her home in Barney, Madison county, Ia., Mrs. D. B. Palmer, aged 83 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Miss Hannah Morgan was born at Hebron, Oxford county Maine, June 5th, 1816, was married to Bradbury Palmer in 1838. Five children blest union, four boys and one girl, three of them died when quite small. Two sons and the aged father survive her. While young she united with the Methodist church and has lived a true devoted Christian life.
She was taken ill with lung fever about eight days previous to her death. While loving friends and relatives surrounded her bedside the messenger of death came and she was gone to the glory where the weary are at rest.
Mrs. Palmer was an exceptionally lovable woman and will be sadly missed in our community, where she has lived since 18_9.
Her two sons Edward and Mellville, and five grandchildren besides a number of other relatives, were present at the funeral, which occurred Feb. 23, 1900. Rev. Nolte preached a very impressive sermon from John 15:1. “Let not your heart be troubled ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
The remains were followed to the Barney cemetery by a large number of relatives and friends. The grief stricken relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.

Grandma Palmer died at her home in Barney, Wednesday morning. She has been suffering from lung fever for sometime. She leaves a husband, two sons and a host of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held at the school house by Rev. Nolte, of Peru. Mrs. Palmer was liked by all who knew her and will be missed very much in our neighborhood.
