Coordinator's note: Apparently, this was an unfounded rumor unless by coincidence, there were two former residents with the same name. The Thomas B. Way found in the 1870 and 1873 Madison County Censuses died in 1881 at Carson, Iowa as verified by another obituary and his tombstone.
