Mrs. Mattie Porter, who lived in the south part of town, and had long been ill with consumption, died at eleven o’clock last night. The funeral will be held at ten o’clock tomorrow forenoon.

Mrs. Porter is a young married woman, but her husband is away from Winterset, and has not been living with her for some time, and she seemed to have very few friends, or even acquaintances. Her father and sister are here from a distance.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
