Died.—John Baugh, at his home in this city Dec. 22d. He was born in Madison county, Kentucky, Nov. 18, 1823, and married to Emily Jane Hooten June 30, 1878. His first wife died about 15 years ago, and he was afterward married to Mrs. N. G. Rutlege, who, with five children survive him. The funeral will occur at 12 o’clock today.

John Baugh died at his home in the south part of Winterset, on Wednesday December 23d. The funeral was held at noon on Thursday, conducted by Rev. Fred Harris and the remains were buried at the cemetery several miles northwest of town, in Douglas township.

Mr. Baugh was born in Madison county, Kentucky, November 18, 1823. He was converted at the age of eighteen years, and united with the Regular Baptist church. He was an elder in that church for many years.

He came to Madison county, in 1849. He was the father of six children, of whom four sons and one daughter are living, and one child is dead. He was an invalid for about two years preceding his death. He was married to his present wife on October 25, 1883, by Rev. C. H. Newell.

John Baugh Dead

John Baugh, one of our oldest citizens and a man well known all over the county, died at his home in the south part of the city Wednesday morning. The funeral was held on Thursday. The body was taken to the Hooten cemetery for burial.

Mr. Baugh was a pioneer and was a man of much influence. His old neighbors in Webster township, where he lived so long, had great respect and esteem for him. The last few years of his life have been passed in Winterset. He has been ill for over a year.
