A little child of Mr. Beem’s was scalded to death Saturday, September 19th. Its mother had just filled a vessel with hot water, and turned around to do something, when the little fellow fell into it and was scalded so severely that it died the same night.

Another Child Scalded to Death.

Another shocking accident, similar to that which happened recently to the McCleary child in Jefferson township, occurred last Saturday in the family of L. L. Beem, of Webster township. A tub of water which had been heated for scrubbing, stood on the floor, and the little three-year-old daughter of the family sat down on the edge of the tub, and, losing her balance, slipped into the water and was fatally scalded before she could be gotten out. This happened at about three in the afternoon, and the little one lived until night, dying at about nine o’clock.
