AND STILL ANOTHER.

One by one the early settlers of Madison county are passing away. On Monday, September 8th, William Ogden ended his mortal career. He passed peacefully away at 3 o’clock in the morning.

Mr. Ogden was born in Hyde, England, in 1811. He emigrated to this country in 1840 and settled in Kentucky. He moved to Winterset in 1856, where for many years he successfully conducted a grocery business.

Some fourteen years ago he became afflicted mentally. His wife afterward took a trip with him to England, hoping for good results from his return to his old home and associations. In this, however, she was disappointed, and he gradually grew worse. He was able to be around until about two months ago, when he took his bed to leave it no more.

He leaves a widow and two daughters, Mrs. Ruby and Mrs. Wheelock, who have the sympathy of our people in this hour of affliction.
