Died.—Mrs. Thomas Gaunt, at her home in this city, Sept. 16th. The funeral was held the 17th and the remains buried at the Hooten cemetery.

The family moved to Winterset last spring, and while comparative strangers in the city, yet they have many friends who sympathize with those bereaved.

Mrs. John T. Gaunt died at 10 o’clock Wednesday forenoon, at her home in this city. The funeral service, which was conducted by Rev. P. C. Stire, was held at her home at two o’clock yesterday afternoon, after which the remains were buried at the Hooten cemetery, in Lincoln township.

Permelia Helen Gaunt was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, April 24, 1841, hence was 55 years, four months and twenty-two days old. She was married to John Gaunt, January 22, 1874. She had been a member of the old school Baptist church for twenty-five years. Her faith in her religion had been perfect, never doubting in the darkest moments of her life. Mr. Stire’s sermon was from the text: “So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
