Debra Joyce L'Estrange, 53 of Prole, Ia. passed away Monday, January 22, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines after a year and a half battle with breast cancer. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007, at McLaren's Chapel, 801 19th St., West Des Moines. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Cemetery in Cumming.

Debra was born to Milford and Joyce (Canfield) Grimmius on August 12, 1953, in Greenville, South Carolina. She was raised in Dunkerton, Ia. and would later relocate to Lakewood.

Debra graduated from Norwalk High School in 1971. She was a supervisor of Facilities services for Drake University/Sodexho, where she had been employed for 27 years.

Debra was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Des Moines and enjoyed vacationing in the Southwestern part of the states, especially the four corners region. She dedicated her life to her faith, family and work. Debra found happiness in time spent with her family, friends and her dog, Cassie.

Debra is survived by her husband, Dan L'Estrange, daughter, Jennifer Conner- Mennenga (John); step-daughter, Jennifer L'Estrange (Todd Kenney); three grandchildren; Indya Kenney, Zane Kenney, Kyle Mennenga, brother, Bradley Grimmius, step-brother Mike Grimmius and her mother Joyce Grimmius. She was preceded in death by her father, Milford Grimmius and her grandmother Fern Canfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at McLarens Chapel
