Robert Applegate, of Douglas township, died last night, at the home of his father, Andrew Applegate. Robert was a young man about twenty-three years old. His death was caused by lung fever and abscess of the stomach. He leaves a young wife, formerly Miss Mabel Fairholm, to whom he had been married only seven weeks.

Obituary.

Robert Thompson Applegate, son of Andrew and Anna Applegate, was born October 17, 1874, married Mable Fairholms February 19, 1896, and died April 9, 1896, of lung fever and pleurisy. He was born and raised in the immediate neighborhood and was respected by a large circle of friends.

He loved and was loved tenderly by father, mother, brother, sister and a young bride of seven short weeks, and many others who are ready to bear testimony to his worth. We mourn, but yet God’s will be done. Benton Applegate.
