Last Saturday morning about 2 o’clock Frank Martino, an aged inmate of the county poor farm, and for several years a citizen of Madison and Adair counties, died of old age. He was a man 82 years old, had always been subjected to hard work and the machine of life had worn itself out. He was twice married, and is the father of 22 children, 18 of whom survive him. Becoming to feeble to work and having been unable to lay anything by for his support, he was obliged to call upon the county for aid, and thus spent the last eighteen months of his life at the poor farm. He was buried Sunday.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
