Mrs. J. A. Roach, a life-long resident of the Cumming community, died Tuesday, Dec. 6 at her home near there where she had lived for 70 years.

Mrs. Roach was born at Linn Grove Dec. 19, 1868. She was the former Eldora E. Tilton, daughter of Theodore and Alphia Tilton. She was married to J. A. Roach, who preceded her in death several years ago.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Alice McAllister and Mrs. Edith Dippold of Booneville, and Mrs. Gladys Stifel of Des Moines; two sons, Charles Roach of Des Moines and John A. Roach, Jr., Cumming; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Bertrand of Des Moines and Mrs. Lydia Cox of West Des Moines; a brother, Jasper Tilton of West Des Moines; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9 in West Des Moines and burial was made in the Orillia cemetery.
