Fred Quick, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Quick, of Scott township, died at his home last Thursday of typhoid fever, and was buried at Union Chapel Friday. He was an exemplary young man twenty-two years old and had a promising future. We understand he was soon to have married a prominent young lady of this city. It is a sad death, in deed, and the bereaved have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.

Obituary

Fred Quick was born in La Salle county, Illinois, September 27, 1872. His sickness commenced on Tuesday, September 3d. Died Thursday, September 19, 1895.

When a small child he moved with his parents to Madison county, Iowa, where he has since lived.

His funeral took place at Union Chapel Friday morning, Rev. C. Hoover taking part and preaching from Psalms XVII: 15—“I shall be satisfied when I awake in Thy likeness.”

How sadly he will be missed in the home he has so long cheered and blessed, where a father, mother and three brothers mourn his loss.

The event of God’s providence tells us that we must some time, not far hence, leave this fair world with all its clouds and storms, its leaves and flowers. Our faith points to a fairer shore, to a brighter life, to a land of perpetual health and of joys immortal; a land where pain and death can never enter.
