NADINE TREVILLYAN, Winterset

R. Nadine Trevillyan, 74, of Winterset died March 10, 2008, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. Visitation will be from 1–8 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 12) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6–8 p.m. Burial will be at Lorimor Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles.

Nadine Trevillyan was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Lenox to Charles Henry and Sadie Ethel (Cashman) Davis. She grew up on a farm in Union County and attended country school at New Hope No. 3 through eighth-grade, graduating from Lorimor High School in 1950. Nadine belonged to the county 4-H club for four years. She later graduated from Thompson’s Beauty School in Des Moines in 1951.

Her marriage to Jerry K. Trevillyan took place Sept. 9, 1951, at the Grandview Park Baptist Church in Des Moines.

Nadine worked as a beauty operator at Winterset Care Center North and several other home-based nursing facilities in Winterset. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Winterset, where she taught Sunday School, Children’s Church and Vacation Bible School and was active in the Ladies’ Missionary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, James Dwight Davis, Donald Davis and Wesley Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Winterset; three children, Lonnie Peacock of Winterset, Steve Trevillyan of Ames and Michelle Van Gorp of Des Moines; three sisters, Stella Van Sickle of Newton, Margaret Danielson of Winterset and Virginia Beery of Des Moines; one brother, Charles Davis Jr. of Cherry Hill, N.J.; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
