Mrs. L. A. Orris died last Monday at her home in Winterset, and was buried yesterday at Pleasant View cemetery, eleven miles west of Winterset, the funeral services being conducted by the Rev. B. E. S. Ely, of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. Orris leaves a husband and three children.

She was born in Louisa county, this state, in 1847, her maiden name being Hannah P. Olds. In 1867 she was married to L. A. Orris. They made their home for various periods in Union county and Des Moines, finally removing to Winterset. Mrs. Orris professed religion at the age of twelve, and had since been a consistent member of the Methodist church.

Chips and Whetstones

Mrs. L. A. Orris, of this city, who had suffered a long time with consumption, died last Monday morning. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Harris Thursday and the remains interred at the Oak Grove cemetery.

Note: Burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery.
