MARIE WEBSTER, Des Moines

Marie E. Webster, 95, of Des Moines died March 2, 2008, at the Ramsey House in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Jim Howland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to the Madison County Historical Society or Middle River Hospice.

Marie Webster was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Iowa City to Albert and Emma (Sybil) Drews. Her marriage to Shirley Alton Webster took place Sept. 19, 1935, in Iowa City. She was a resident of Winterset from 1935 to 1994, when she moved to Des Moines. Marie was a member of the Tri-L Book Club and American Legion Auxiliary, a life member of the Madison County Historical Society, a 50-year member of Eastern Star, and a charter member of the Progressive Study Club. She also attended the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

Marie E. Webster, 95, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Ramsey House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery at Winterset.

Marie was born at Iowa City, Iowa to Albert and Emma (Sybil) Drews. She was married on September 19, 1935 to Shirley A. Webster. She had lived in Winterset from 1935 until moving to Des Moines in 1994. Marie had been a homemaker and attended the First United Presbyterian Church.

Marie is survived by daughters, Jane Morrissey of Boulder, Colorado and Ann (Maurice)Sullivan of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Shirley A. Webster; and brother, Oscar Albert Drews.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Memorials given to the family will be directed to Madison County Historical Society or Middle River Hospice.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel and Funeral Services in Winterset.
