Helen E. Hibbs, age 92, died at Shook Home Care Center in Chambersburg, PA on February 28, 2008. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday March 4, 2008 at the Earlham Friends Church with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.
Helen was born February 2, 1916 to D. Melvin and Myrtle (Thomas) Barr in Dexter, Iowa. She married Robert P. Hibbs on July 14, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She and Robert lived on the Hibbs farm Southeast of Earlham until moving into Earlham in their later years.
Many remember Helen from her days in the Earlham Saving Bank. Helen enjoyed hobbies including raising flowers, knitting, quilting, sewing, reading, and puzzles. She was a long time active member of the Earlham Friends Church. Helen spent her last 2-1/2 years living in St. Thomas, PA with her daughter Judy and husband Larry. Her loving smile and gentle way will be missed by many.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday March 3, 2008 at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Earlham Friends Church in Helen's memory.

Page 2Helen E. Hibbs was born the daughter of D. Melvin Barr and Myrtle Thomas Barr on Feb. 2, 1916. She died Feb. 28, 2008.
Helen married Robert P. Hibbs on July 14, 1940 at Little Brown Church in Nahua, Iowa. They had one child, Judy Tinberg (husband Larry).
Two grandchildren – Heather Duffett (husband David) and Heidi Demasi (husband Anthony).
Four great grandchildren – John, Elizabeth, and Margaret Demasi and Nicholas Duffett.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, and four brothers, Dwight, Dwayne, Hoyt, and Max.
She and Robert lived on the Hibbs farm southeast of Earlham until moving into town in their later years. Many remember her from her days in the Earlham Saving Bank.
Helen enjoyed hobbies including raising flowers, knitting, quilting, sewing, reading, and puzzles.
She was a long time active member of the Earlham Friends Church.

Burial was made in the Earlham, Iowa cemetery.
